Cervantes Park is a lovely landscaped area in the town of Esplugues de Llobregat, just outside Barcelona. The park has a total of 245 varieties of roses – red, yellow and blue blooms that flood the landscape with bright, fresh colours, making this place quite unique and unmissable.


The park was designed by Luís Riudor i Carol, who at the time was the Director of Barcelona’s Parks and Gardens Department. He officially opened the park in 1965 and planted almost 10,000 rose bushes, which flower from April to November, thanks to the ideal Mediterranean climate. The collection continues to grow, year by year, and since 2001 the park has hosted an international rose competition, where the winning roses are incorporated into the park.

As well as all the vegetation, the park also has a number of works of public art, including Jacinto Bustos Vasallo’s Adam, Eulàlia Fàbregas de Sentmenat’s Serenitat, Juan Díaz de la Campa’s homage to Concha Espina and finally, Jaume Monràs’s sculpture of Àngel Ganivet.

Cervantes Park is a unique outdoor space in which to enjoy nature. Visitors can take long walks or simply some time out from the daily hustle and bustle of the city. Its extensive landscaped gardens make it the ideal place for jogging, cycling or exercising.

You can get there from Avenida de la Diagonal or Avenida de Esplugues. Cervantes Park is some distance from the centre, in the upper part of the city. For that reason, we recommend that you drive there in your own vehicle and then use the Saba public car park, just a few metres from the park at numbers 39-57 Calle Santa Rosa.
