At the top of Plaza de la Constitución is Puertollano Town Hall, a public building in an avant-garde style. One outstanding feature is the town crest that can be seen at the top of the façade: a sign telling locals where to come to carry out their administrative tasks and/or get citizens’ advice.

Plaza de la Constitución has a landscaped section and benches where you can sit and admire the view of the city from a good height. We recommend that you spend a sunny day in this special area, admiring it in all its glory.

Another place of interest in the area is the town museum that stands next to what is today the town hall. In fact, this building used to be the council building, but it was not ideal and the council moved to its current home.

The museum is a relatively old building constructed in the early 20th century and restored in 1992 by students at the Escuela-Taller de Puertollano. It was a big project, given the deteriorated condition that the Spanish Modernist building was in. Inside, there is a permanent exhibition on Cervantes, entitled “La mancha de don Quijote, realidad de una fantasía” (‘Don Quijote’s La Mancha: the reality of a fantasy’). In 1993, the town museum won the Europa Nostra Award, which is given in recognition of projects that make an exceptional contribution to safeguarding or improving cultural heritage.
