In the north part of the Gràcia neighbourhood, we find Park Güell, one of Barcelona’s most important Modernista sites and one of Antoni Gaudí’s most unique projects. Construction began in 1900 and ended in 1914, but it was not opened as a public park until 1926.

As well as an area of open spaces, it hides lots of nooks and crannies to explore and is a work of art in itself. It belongs to the architect’s most naturalist period and would go on to become one of the best examples of Catalan Modernism.

Gaudí infused his architectural works with both political and religious significance, and you’ll find plenty of his personal touches and artistic flourishes here. Güell and Gaudí found inspiration for their park in the temple of Apollo at Delphi and, like the temple, the park sits atop a hill, in this case Turó del Carmel.

There are different entrance fees depending on how much you want to see, not just in this park but at other cultural attractions. The basic ticket is for entrance to the park, at a cost of 7 euros with reduced fees for children aged 7-12 and free for the under-6s. The next level of ticket includes both a visit to the park and a Catalan Modernism trail that includes a visit to the Museum of the History of Barcelona (MUHBA).

The park is two streets away from Gaudí Experiencia, a museum that gives all the information you need on Barcelona’s star architect. To get to the park, you can drive to the Carmel neighbourhood between Vallcarca and Gràcia.

You’ll find one of our Saba car parks here, where you can park your vehicle without any problem. Our public car parks are open 24 hours a day, so you can enjoy a visit to the park throughout the day.
